The 100/1000BASE-T1 Media Converter realizes a bi-directional physical layer conversion between 100/1000BASE-T1 and Fast/Gigabit Ethernet networks. The converter is easily configurable via on-board switches and its status is visualised by multiple LEDs. Advances features such as frame generator and cable diagnostic are available, and the device can also be used as a USB-CAN(/FD) interface.
The media converter features a TE MATEnet connector for 100/1000BASE-T1 channel, and an RJ-45 connector for a standard 100/1000 Mbit Ethernet port, and the device can be power either over USB (Type-C) or externally 7-30 V DC (terminal block).
The built-in switches allow to configure T1 port parameters, such as auto-negotiation or manual selection of speed, master/slave mode, and IEEE/legacy mode. The device comes in a sleek aluminium enclosure and can be placed on a table or mounted on a DIN rail (bracket sold separately).
The open communication protocol over USB or CAN(/FD) enables to programmatically read the port status and configure the parameters. A free-of-charge PC application is available to visualise the device’s status, configure its parameters and use the advanced functions.
The 100/1000BASE-T1 Media Converter is a flexible tool to interconnect an Automotive Ethernet ECU to a standard PC network. Yet, it brings many additional features such as port diagnostic, integration over USB or CAN(/FD), and the USB-CAN(/FD) interface possibility.
